No Cost Home Loans – Is There Really a Free Lunch?

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

My Real Estate Agent asked me the other day about how no cost home loan works. So, I explained that this changing market place, many of us have seen mortgage lenders advertise the “no cost” loans.    This sounds really good but what is a no cost loan? And what are the benefits of this type of loan, if there is any?

Yes Virginia, There is an Allegorical, Metaphorical, and Culturally Neutered Santa Claus

As a tyke I remember Santa Claus and the big to do at Christmas. Maybe it was more important back then…today the affluence and indifference of our modern angst has probably diminished both Christmas’ and Santa’s influence.

Should We Stop Our Children From Watching Fairytales Where There Is A Character Of Evil Witch?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Should we stop our children from watching fairytales where there is a character of evil witch? For example the Snow white or the Beauty and the Beast.

My eldest daughter is 5 years old. Recently she is becoming very attached to the glamorous princess characters such as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White etc. These fairy tales are her bedtime cuddles. She was having a stay over from one of her friends where her friend’s parents also came. After a while my daughter wanted to see Snow White Disney cartoon which I allowed her to borrow from the local library. Her friends parents protested instantly. Their view is- it is a ‘scary story’ and we ought not to allow our children to watch these sort of movie.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.
To avoid any further argument, I played the Mickey Mouse cartoon instead.

Happily Ever After, How to Get There.

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

A marriage is an institution that unites two hearts and souls. A union that is so pure and blessed till death do you part.A healthy marriage is a lot like a healthy body. As your body requires proper feeding, consistent exercise and sufficient rest; so does your marriage. It needs constant love and reassurance, steady communication and of course, intimacy.Love and Assurance We all need to love and to be loved. Don’t let your busy schedule takes you away from your spouse. Let him/her know that you always think of them in almost everything that you do. When at work, during a coffee break or in between meetings, call up your husband/wife, just to let them know you’re thinking about them. Or you can tap out a short email or instant message. CommunicationCommunication to a marriage is a lot like exercise for the body. It is what you do to make sure your relationship is in good shape. Always find some time to talk to your spouse. The sky is the limit to what kind of communication you can have with your spouse.IntimacyA lot of marriage counselors chalk up the longevity of a marriage to how intimate the couple is. For a marriage to survive and last until that dreamy “forever,” intimacy must exist between the couple. What is intimacy anyway? This just does not pertain to the act of making love, but fulfilling each other’s emotional needs. It entails enlightening conversations in between kisses and caresses. Here are some ways how to spark that intimacy for your marriage, so that you too will be on the path to your happily ever after fairy tales:1) Husband and wife must continually unleash their romantic side.Hugs and kisses, flowers, holding hands, stolen smacks- they do magic in a relationship.2) Schedule dates. Dating must not end at marriage. In fact, both should set a time to go out and have fun, just like before. 3) Surprise your spouse.Sweet surprises always lead to intimacy. If the couple knows when to pull off these incredibly romantic stints, then that’s a surefire way to attain a divorce-proof relationship. In real world, it’s certainly not with a magic wand. But real married life doesn’t necessarily have to be dull and gray either.A bright and lasting marriage is very possible even after the honeymoon period. What is needed is the willingness to work at it and an even bigger will to keep on working when things get difficult, because as with any marriage, it definitely will.

Every Relationship is a Fairy Tale – if there is a Dragon!

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Sounds ridiculous to say that, “Every Relationship is a Fairy Tale.” does it not? Yet if we look closer we may find out that it is true. We may also find that we get a clearer understanding of how to make our relationships work better.

The thing about fairy stories is that although they are completely fictional; they are also completely true! It all depends on how we look at them. They are true because of what they tell use about human nature.
