From the Jorinda and Joringle episode. Another song that haunted me for years after I heard it. I couldn’t remember the words, just the melody. Heh, this is such old school anime.

This song used to haunt the fuck out of me as a kid.
It may be one of the few fairy tales where girls get transformed into animals, but it is definitely not one of the few where girls have to be rescued by their lovers. It is one of the many, unfortunately.
If he can’t move a muscle then how can he move his arms and speak?

Nah, the Willow’s song and this song don’t sound too much alike.
oh wow i just noticed that the person mentioned willows game over screen… yeah it def sounds like that.
i’m thinking of the part when you walk up to the weeping willow who is playing the harp
I have all of KQ5’s soundtrack, but I don’t think any of it sounds quite like this.
someone mentioned an nes game with this melody. i agree ive heard it in a classic game. my guess is kings quest 5.
this show in general indeed gives me fond childhood memories, but im surprised to hear so many say they have searched for this song in particular for years, bc the melody is so commonly used elsewhere. probably originated in romanian gypsy music so it sounds…
I have been looking for this song pretty much my entire life lol, you are awesome. I’m 25 now and I heard this when I was a little kid, it was probably the first song that stuck with me that I couldn’t get out of my head and had to hear again. I NEEDED to hear it again, I sat and watched episodes of Grimm’s Fairy Tales for weeks after that waiting for this one to air again and I never did get to see it except maybe once by accident after I’d stopped looking.
